A family business built to serve your family
The hidden gem in your own backyard.
Walter and Buddy Hopkins found themselves on a 5-acre hog farm back in 1966. Life was good, but getting the hogs processed was a difficult and time-consuming task. Their friends agreed that Central Florida offered too few meat processors to meet the demand. Entrepreneurs at heart, the brothers borrowed the necessary money from family and friends and single-handedly built the very first Hopkins Meat Packing and Processing — brick by brick, nail by nail.
Walter and Buddy pieced together all the butchering equipment, set it up, and opened just one year later in 1967. As with all new businesses, there were challenges to be met — but just six months later, the brothers would face their biggest challenge yet: fire.
The Family

Marie and Husband Mark
Mark and Marie manage both the office and the shop together and have done so for many years. Stop and by and you'll always find one or the other either greeting and serving customers or managing local suppliers to keep the shelves stocked for you, their customer.

Marie and Brother Roy
Marie and her Brother Roy are what makes Hopkins Meat Packing a true family business. While it started with their father many years ago, it's Roy, Marie and her husband Mark that continue the legacy of quality meats for neighbors and beyond.

"Mom" — Jane Hopkins
Jane Hopkins has seen it all in the 59 years that Hopkins Meats has served their neighbors. She remains the inspiration and driving force for Marie and Roy and the whole team.
